Mark your 2024 calendar now with the dates of CFUW's BC Council AGM and Conference in Nanaimo, May 3 - 5, and CFUW National's AGM and Conference in Edmonton, July 22 - 24. Both events will be well worth attending.
Be sure to save the date too for our second annual breakfast gathering starting at 8 am to mark International Women's Day, Friday, March 8th. We will have a guest female refugee to tell her story. Coffee/tea and light breakfast items. Bring your own mug. RSVP requested to cfuwkelpresR@gmail.com
COLDEST NIGHT of the YEAR
For the last 5 years CFUW Kelowna has participated in this event to raise money for the Metro to help with their work with street people. A donation of $20 or more will get you a tax receipt. The date is Saturday, February 24. Come out and walk with us, or
donate to our TEAM “CFUW Kelowna Hot to Trots”. This is a National event with many other CFUW clubs participating to raise funds in their community. For more info contact cfuwkelpresR@gmail.com
Our spring road clean up is scheduled for Thursday, April 11th - save the date! We meet at 9:30am at Parkinson Rec Centre, parking on the south side of the parking lot. Safety vests, reachers, and bags are provided by the city. Please bring gloves. Carpooling is a good idea for those who want to. Our roads are Weddell Place, and Poplar Point Road including Herbert Heights. Signs designating the roads as ours helps to raise our profile. If you haven’t before, how about considering coming out to help out with our twice yearly endeavour? First timers sign a waiver. The cleanup takes about an hour and a half, after which we head to coffee at the Marmalade Café on Richter across from the police station. For more info see contact on Members' Only page 3.
