BC COUNCIL 2023 AGM and CONFERENCE
This event took place in Vancouver at the beautiful Hycroft House. Several of our members attended, see photo below.
CFUW Kelowna members enjoyed a tour last fall of the new KF Aerospace Centre for Excellence near the airport. One aim of the centre is to provide information about the aviation industry and to encourage more people to choose a career in this field. They also hope to increase the number of female employees. Exhibits include a variety of aircraft, an interactive model of Kelowna International Airport, a quiz to determine which aviation career is for you, two flight simulators to try and much more.
Following a well-received tour last March of Okanagan College's new Health Sciences Centre a second tour was planned. The innovative centre is well worth visiting, as much for the design and architecture as for the well-planned labs, simulated treatment facilities and much more. Much of the equipment and technology has been donated by local businesses and philanthropists. CFUW Kelowna is listed as one of the donors on the Honour Wall, where the photo below was taken.
