About cfuw nationally
The Canadian Federation of University Women was founded in Winnipeg in 1919. The goal of the organization is to build a strong national organization to ensure all girls and women have equal opportunities and equal access to quality education. Our vision includes a world where poverty is reduced, discrimination eliminated, and where there are equal opportunities for leadership, employment, income, education, careers and the ability to maximize potential. We are a 7,500+ member strong organization of educated women who come together to build friendships, engage in thought-provoking discussions and provide monetary support for girls and women.
We are one of the few women's organizations to offer a local, national and international opportunity, and offer a variety of interest groups. We also work actively to address structural change to make a difference in the lives of women and girls. We are unique. Because we are independently funded and reasonably priced our voice is not restrained by sponsors, donors or government grants.

CFUW KELOWNA
The local club in Kelowna was founded in 1960. Originally known as the University Women's Club of Kelowna, our name is officially now CFUW Kelowna. While at one time membership required a university degree, this has not been the case for some years. If you are a woman who shares our goals and objectives, you are welcome.
We are a member club of CFUW BC Council, which comprises the 21 clubs in the province and acts as a resource and facilitator for province-wide and national advocacy efforts.
